| PNAC & DUHS sign MoU |  | KARACHI: The importance of Medical Labs Accreditation is increasing every day in this era of technological advancements and competition in the healthcare service sector, in the light of above facts DG, PNAC & Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Prof. Dr. Masood Hameed Khan Head of two organizations Signed a MoU in presence of Mr. Ateeq-ur-Rehman Memon, Director (Medical Labs), PNAC and Dr. Meher F. Hansotia, Registrar, DUHS as witnesses in presence of other senior colleagues from both organizations at Karachi in the evening of 7th September 2009. This MOU would establish working relationship between DUHS and PNAC to coordinate and jointly organize training seminars, courses and workshops to promote quality culture in health sector in Pakistan and get benefited from each other's expertise. PNAC would also support DUHS in running Proficiency Testing (PT) program which is a major requirement for accreditation of medical laboratories according to ISO 15189 standard under the signed MOU. The University will also provide technical and scientific services concerning accreditation to public or private organizations through PNAC on commercial basis. Vice Chancellor, DUHS Prof. Dr. Masood Hameed Khan briefed about the activities of DUHS, he also announced that they will apply very soon for accreditation of their Dow Diagnostic Research & Reference (DDRL) Lab in accordance to ISO 15189. Speaking on the occasion, DG, PNAC briefed the participants on the importance of accreditation of medical labs and acknowledged the achievements made by PNAC like achieving membership of various International Bodies (IAF, ILAC, APLAC and PAC). He hoped that this collaboration between two organizations will further contribute to improve the quality culture having a direct impact on common man & overall development of the country in the field of Health Care. |
