Campaign Through Media on Accreditation (CTMA) is a PSDP project initiated by Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC). The importance of media coverage can not be ignored for any national level programme like PNAC especially after the landmark achievement of Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) status from APLAC/ ILAC. According to the project a mass awareness raising campaign is to be launched for consumers, traders, manufacturers and society as a whole through print and electronic media on the use of quality products and services. The project also includes conducting seminars / workshops for the subject purpose.

The objectives of the project are :
- To create wide spread quality culture all over the country and linking it with Quality assurance, compliance, and accreditation especially with a focus on the accreditation of medical labs, through a print and electronic media campaign.
- To explicate to the all parties that accreditation has the reliable solution to all the quality, traceability & reliability related issues especially in the health industry.
- To encourage / persuade at least 50 Medical labs in Pakistan to initiate process of accreditation & increase number of industrial lab accreditation from 29 to 50 & to put another 30 in the process of accreditation.
- To give PNAC adequate projection in the media which is critical to play its role in quality improvement related to industry and exports.
|
Through this two years project it will be ensured that accreditation related news and activities are professionally covered by the print as well as electronic media. Special seminars, talk shows and interviews will be arranged for the awareness purpose. It is expected that the campaign will give rise to customers' demand regarding quality of product and services, and eventually a culture for quality and accreditation will start to be established. Though it is going to be a general campaign but very special focus will be on the accreditation of medical labs which are directly affecting the lives of people.
