Ms Ismat Gul Khattak has been working in the field of accreditation since 2002 initially with Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) as Director till she moved to UAE in 2008 and started working with with Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology. She recently returned to Pakistan and joined PNAC as Director General. She had developed both these accreditation bodies from very basic levels to well established systems. She has approximately 25 years of experience of working mainly with Governments of Pakistan, UAE and UK, besides working with UN for short time.

She got her trainings in the field of accreditation from leading accreditation bodies around the world. She has been lead assessor for ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 15189 and ISO 17043. She is a trainer on these accreditation Standards as well. She has been focal person for CASCO while in ENAS and has been in working groups for revision of various accreditation standards. She had launched proficiency testing program in Pakistan in the fields of chemical and microbiological testing in 2004. She has a very sound understanding of accreditation standards and its requirements.

Ms Khattak has two Master degrees. MSc Chemistry from University of Peshawar, Pakistan and Master of Environmental Management from University of Tasmania, Australia.
